"A Medieval Buckle With A Lioness Or Feline Beast, Circa 12th-13th Century Ad Or Before"
A large, two-part, tongue-shaped buckle crudely engraved with a fantastical beast motif. The composition of this beast echoes prehistoric cave paintings or chalk hill compositions in the UK.
It was found at Whaplode in Lincolnshire near Spalding & Holbeach.
