"Two Polychrome Wooden Panels Depicting A Couple, 17th Century"
Two beautiful Spanish panels depicting a man and a woman, made using the sgraffito technique. In sculpture, sgraffito, called estofado, was used to create detailed designs on clothing by scraping away layers of paint to reveal gold leaf or other contrasting colors. Beautifully finished and in very good condition.
On the back of the panels are two old collector's labels.
