Object description :

"“wagram Watch” Clock, 19th Century."
Patinated and gilded bronze representing the Emperor in the uniform of a colonel of horse hunters asleep on his chair, his foot resting on a terrestrial globe giving the time itself supported by two crossed cannons and surmounted by an Imperial Eagle.
The Ensemble rests on a marble base supported by ball feet.
This representation comes from a painting by Adolphe Roehn painted in 1810 entitled “Bivouac of Napoleon 1st on the battlefield of Wagram, night of July 5 to 6, 1809” and kept at the Palace of Versailles.
We see the Emperor, surrounded by his General Staff, asleep on a chair and his foot resting on his campaign desk.
