Gilt Bronze Clock Return From Egypt, Empire Period Early 19th Century
Architectural portico clock, with two columns decorated with Egyptian caryatids.
Gilt bronze decoration framing a large domed enamel dial,
a large finely chiseled drapery underlining it while the pediment is finely openworked with decoration of two swans back to back,
the latter framing a torch and holding a fall of flowers in their beaks.
The finely chiselled round pendulum of a couple of doves, in a basket forming a nest with nestlings, symbol of marriage and family.
Oval base decorated with three borders.
Early 19th century period in the Empire Return from Egypt style.
Wire movement. Hour and half-hour strike. Good working order.
