Description:
Antique Tyrolean chest of drawers, dated 1840, made of solid fir wood—a material highly valued in alpine regions for its lightness and ease of workmanship. The structure is solid and compact, resting on slightly shaped bracket feet.

The piece features three large front drawers, each adorned with original painted decorations: delicate bouquets of flowers and botanical compositions in natural tones, now gently aged by time but still vivid. The drawer frames are crafted using a unique faux inlay technique with a herringbone painted pattern, adding movement to the surface and enhancing the front of the piece.

The upper section displays two panels, also decorated with floral motifs, framed by a delicate red-painted outline. At the center is the name of the original owner and the date of construction.

The handles are made of chiselled metal, circular in shape with central knob escutcheons, crafted in relief and original to the piece. Each drawer has a pair of side handles and a central one, emphasizing the strict symmetry typical of early 19th-century Tyrolean furniture.

The surface of the chest shows a lovely patina, with signs of use that add charm to its aesthetic. Overall condition is excellent. Two small hidden drawers are concealed within.
