Oval dining table from the first half of the 19th century, originating from the Emilia region, with a solid apron and a central opening system.
The top is veneered in four sections of flamed walnut, arranged in a four‑part herringbone pattern. The veneers are matched symmetrically, creating a regular central design that highlights the natural figuring of the wood. The table opens at the center: the two halves slide on wooden runners and allow the insertion of two solid‑wood extension leaves, which extend the oval shape. The extensions have a simple and functional surface, without veneering.
The apron is covered with end‑grain walnut veneer, a solution that emphasizes the vertical texture of the wood and visually distinguishes the apron from the top. The lower edge features a continuous moulding with light carved decoration.
The legs are made of solid beech and display a faceted, truncated‑conical construction. At the upper part of each leg is a carved rhomboid motif, typical of Emilian tables of the 19th century. The table offers generous seating capacity both in its closed and extended configuration.
