"A Ryuzan Satsuma Incense Burner 龍山"
Polylobed in shape, it rests on four feet. Decorated with gold and polychrome enamels, it represents a procession of samurai carrying a luxurious kago, probably accompanied by a dignitary or a damyo. The representation of the figures is finely chiseled and the original form is drawn on a beautiful crackle of the earthenware. The handle of the lid is in the shape of a golden chrysanthemum.
