Paris 1773, Oval Dish, Solid Silver, Antoine Lucas, De Billeheust Family
Artist: Antoine Lucas Maître En 1770
Very pretty oval serving dish from the Louis XV period in solid silver. It is engraved with a very beautiful coat of arms topped with a marquis' crown, probably for a member of the Billeheust d'Argenton, Billeheust de Gourgoux or Billeheust de Saint-Georges family. Very thick and very solid, it weighs a very generous 1080 grams. The hallmarks are very legible. Charge mark (crowned A) and discharge mark (woman's head) and crowned K for 1773. Master goldsmith mark AL with Saint-Esprit for Antoine Lucas, goldsmith in Paris from 1770.
