"17th Century - Bronze - Seal With Agnus Dei, Eucharist And Cornucopias With Grape And Wheat"
Splendid bronze seal dating back to around the 17th century.
In the depiction, at the bottom there is the Agnus Dei with its banner, surmounted by the chalice with the Eucharist, on which a cross is engraved.
On the sides there are two cornucopias, of which:
- The left contains a vine shoot, symbol of wine and therefore of the blood of Christ.
- The right contains an ear of wheat, symbol of bread and therefore of the body of Christ.
Above two phytomorphic motifs that separate the lateral cornucopias from the central chalice are engraved two initials: G. H.
A piece of great value and charm, characterized by a strong profusion of messages conveyed through the symbols.
