Baluster Vase, Chimeras Or Dragons, China, 1st Half Of The 19th Century
Curious Chinese stoneware vase worked in high relief, glazed with a milky white turning to grayish white towards the bottom, and cracked.
Qing Dynasty, Daoguang (or Tao Kuang) period, 1820 - 1850.
Motif of two chimeras or dragons facing each other, on a pearl background.
Neck hemmed with two pearl garlands, on the outside and inside.
Hollow mark on the reverse, visibly manual, and three traces of pernettes.
Excellent condition, 2 small losses to report (see last 2 photos).
Height = 25.5 cm; Diameter at the base = 8.9 cm, at the belly = approximately 12 cm, at the neck = 8.5 cm.
