Pair of high reliefs in light terracotta sculpted in the round, in medallion form, representing the allegories of summer and winter. Signature with stylus in the lower part "Sporrer" for both medallions. Last quarter of the 18th century. Fidèle SPORRER (1731 - 1811) from Altdorf in Germany, is a great Alsatian sculptor. Author in particular of high quality religious works such as the Lamentation of Christ of Haguenau. And also author for public commissions, such as the fountain of the Virgin with roses of Mulhouse.
