"Animated Landscape Circa 1830 By Alexandre Géré"
Beautiful oil on canvas from the first half of the 19th century, signed Geré (Alexandre GERE, born in 1807), depicting a lively riverside landscape, with thatched cottages around a bridge. In the background, we can see a medieval castle in a vaporous atmosphere, and the whole is lit by a "end of storm" light very well rendered by the artist. Painting in very good general condition, with some very slight losses without incidence. On its original canvas and stretcher. Modern gilded frame. Total dimensions: 87 X 68 cm, and 73 X 54 cm for the canvas alone.
