Pair Of 18th Century Religious Glass Fixtures, Louis XV Period, Virgin And Child

Rare pair of 18th-century religious reverse glass paintings, dating from the Louis XV or Louis XVI period.
One depicts the Education of the Virgin with her mother Saint Anne, and the other shows the Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus.
They are of very fine quality and are exquisitely executed.
The reverse glass painting technique is particularly delicate and requires real mastery, as the subject is painted in reverse on the back of the glass.
This method gives the artwork a very luminous effect.
There are a few tiny areas where the material has flaked off due to the age of the pieces, but nothing serious.

While it is possible to separate them, I believe it would be a shame to do so.
