Engraving depicting the hermit saint with his usual attributes (staff with cross, bell, hooded habit, etc.) seated, absorbed in his reading, with an imaginary city in the background. In the lower part of the print, we can see Dürer's anagram and the date of the first edition of this engraving (1519). This same engraving was produced mainly during the 18th and 19th centuries, with some editions as early as the 20th century. -
