Rare large ROUND pewter PLATE with a finely engraved molded edge of Jesus Christ standing in a central medallion surrounded by twelve captioned cartouches depicting the apostles alternating with fleurons. The rim is decorated with repetitive stylized motifs.
Hallmarked by Gabriel SYREN, master in 1727:
1°- deer / crown held by two angels / GABRIEL SYREN / ENGELS BLOCK TIN.
2°- righteous angel / GABRIEL SYREN / 17(--), affixed twice.
Diameter: 45.5 cm.
FRANKFURT, Mid-18th century
Rare, in very good condition and of fine material quality; areas of superficial oxidation are however noted.
