Sculptor, chaser, master goldsmith, at the Chicago exhibition, Joe Descomps was trained in the Falguières company. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes français from 1891 to 1937. A very renowned sculptor, his favorite subject was the female nude, a subject that he knew how to enhance by sculpting mainly bronze but also ivory. Some subjects are treated using the terracotta technique, requiring great mastery of modeling and line. We will also mention some automobile mascots, always treated with a great finesse specific to this sculptor. Joe Descomps worked with the best bronze foundries, such as Susse Frères or Etling Paris
