Gien Service - Rambouillet Model By Jean Bertholle

Gien Earthenware Service created in the 1950s for the receptions of President René Coty during the famous hunts in Rambouillet.

This superb Gien earthenware service is an exceptionally complete set, entirely handmade. Blending elegance and history, it is composed of 113 pieces decorated with animal scenes (doe, roe deer, wild boar, dogs, etc.).

Details of the service:

* Dishes (10 pieces) including:
- 3 oval dishes decorated with doe
- 2 round dishes decorated with deer
- 3 round hollow dishes illustrating wild boar
- 1 round dish decorated with a rifle and a hunting horn
- 1 dessert or cheese dish, representing a dog

* Plates (80 pieces) including:
- 53 ordinary plates (duck, pheasant, rabbits, etc.)
- 19 soup plates (duck, pheasant, rabbits, etc.)
- 8 small plates representing dogs

* Other pieces (23 pieces) including:
- 3 trivets
- 4 soup tureens / vegetable dishes decorated with woodcocks
- 2 Perdrix sauceboats - 1 Perdrix terrine with lid
- 1 coffee pot decorated with duck

Two damaged/free dishes included with the set.
