"Christ Pantocrator, 19th Century Icon "
A remarkable icon made in the mid-19th century, depicting Christ Pantocrator. While depicting Christ blessing, holding the globe surmounted by the cross in his hand is classic, the choice of a more European iconography, quite far removed from the Byzantine tradition, is less common. The result is full of sensitivity and gentleness. The presence of this icon is deeply soothing. It is in very good condition, freshly cleaned.
