Empire Wall Lamp In Gilded And Patinated Bronze With Fame, 19th Century

- Wall lamp consisting of a gilt bronze support and an allegorical figure of Renown in patinated bronze, Empire style work circa 1860.

- This wall lamp consists of a gilt bronze support; a wall part decorated at its ends with scrolled stems, a structure in the form of a gilt bronze scroll adorned with numerous floral motifs (foliage bases, flowers, palmettes). It is on the latter that stands on a globe, a winged female allegorical figure in patinated bronze draped in the antique style, a universal renown. This sculpture holds at arm's length, like a caryatid, a gilt bronze plant crown serving as a support for three cornucopia-shaped light arms. The latter are finely chiseled with plant motifs as well.

- This candelabra is distinguished by the research into material effects with a variation in finishing techniques; the polished surface of the globe brings shine and stands out more compared to the matte bronze of the support. Added to the juxtaposition of the patinated bronze of Fame, this wall light offers pleasant plays of contrasts of color and light.
