Pair Of Crystal Vases Mounted On A Gilt Bronze Base, 19th Century.
- Pair of crystal vases mounted on a gilt bronze base, work from the first half of the 19th century. The crystal, cut and molded with alternating diamond-cut gadroons, is here combined with finely chiseled gilt bronze elements for the base, the pedestal, the handles and the decoration above the lips.
- The two handles are formed of an elegant scroll that draws a sculptural motif of character with its volutes and bunches. This sculptural element of gilt character conjures the discretion of the crystal to better enhance its transparency, thus offering us a most refined contrast. The handles are fixed at the top thanks to a frieze decoration of pearls and palmettes, also in gilt bronze, which adorns the circumference of the lips. Each vase is mounted on a rectangular gilt bronze base decorated with a ribboned leafy crown. - Very good state of conservation. The bases brought back in the 20th century.
Dimensions: height: 44.5 cm, width: 21 cm, depth: 11.8 cm
