The box is rectangular, with rounded edges. It is entirely guilloché with wave and rice grain motifs on the sides and under the box. The lid is guilloché with a frieze of roses around the edge and a large radiant motif in the center.
But what makes this box so beautiful, charming, and interesting is its magnificent ribbon applied in trompe l'oeil style, transforming a beautiful but classic box into the most beautiful gift setting! The packaging becomes the object. The accessory is the main feature.
The ribbon crosses into a beautiful bow on the lid and falls down each side of the box.
A true little marvel, inside vermeil. A real favorite!
The box is hallmarked:
. Minerva 1st grade before 1973 for 950/°° silver
. Hardly legible silversmith's mark: MB with a different mark to be identified. Although not certain, it could be Michel Ballada (MB with a baby), active from 1914 to 1922. Sublime case, generously sized with high-quality guilloché work and an ingenious and magnificent ribbon decoration.
