Léon Danchin (1887-1938) was a French artist known for his works depicting dogs, horses and hunting scenes. He excelled in animal drawing and worked primarily in etching and lithography. His highly detailed and expressive works are still sought after by collectors today, especially his depictions of dogs such as setters, pointers, shepherds and Labradors. This work is a gouache etching, glazed and framed in gilded wood by Léon Danchin, depicting two German Shepherds. He was very well known for his detailed depictions of dogs.
