"Statue Fetish Mumuye Chamba Nigeria Benué"
Rare Chamba statue, from Nigeria. We find all the geometric style of the Mumuye statues, in particular the arms and legs in zig-zag, artistically very interesting. Beautiful red patina typical of the Chambas and significant traces of use, this statue is old and has visibly been used, note the indigenous restoration to the beak, the finesse of the arms detached from the body which represents a real technical feat of sculpture. A large hole crosses it at the temples, it could be a hole dug to put a stick through to carry the statue without touching it! Height 53 cm.
