Very beautiful Louis-Philippe period portico clock circa 1840 signed on its mechanism "Rollin à Paris", clockmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French clockmakers.

Of excellent quality in all respects, architecture in black ebony veneer with four twisted columns decorated with brass threads, as well as a splendid marquetry finely worked on the front with a rich inlay of gilded brass and colored mother-of-pearl. The entire clock has benefited from a tampon varnish providing contrast, shine and protection.

Gilded bronze with mercury and gold, base and capitals of the columns very finely chiseled with kidneys and water leaves. The surround of the dial and the chiseled pendulum in high relief reveals five characters; the pendulum is reflected on the flat surface of the base thanks to the tampon varnish. White enamel dial accompanied by finely worked hands.

Original mechanism without modification, hour and half-hour strike on old bell.
