Clock Restauration Leroy Charles 1810-1830
Very good manufacture clock signed on the dial "CHles LEROY RUE DU TEMPLE N°115. Clockmaker referenced in the Tardy, name and street number identical, active during the period 1810-1830, Tardy dictionary of French clockmakers.
Architecture in patinated bronze, very finely chiseled bronze ornamentation, mercury gilding with gold. The facade is richly decorated with rosettes and a chiseled frieze of cornucopias framing a flower vase from which a pair of bees are foraging. Chiseled bronze dial in the center and its surround of palmettes and flowers. At the top rests a basin whose exterior, very in relief, features acanthus leaves on its whole decorated with swan heads as handles.
Original mechanism without modification, wire suspension, striking of the hours and half-hours on an old bell.
