"Clock Effigy Ciceron Watchmaker Grandperrin 1820"
Clock with the effigy of Cicero, lawyer, statesman, philosopher and Roman writer, bust in patinated bronze.
Signed on the dial "Grandperrin rue Saint-Honoré n°394", clockmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French clockmakers. Restoration period around 1820.

Made of a very beautiful red griotte marble and patinated bronze very finely chiseled with acanthus leaves and palmette. Large white enamel dial highlighted by a water leaf outline, protected by a bezel set with a domed glass.

Large original mechanism without modification, silk thread suspension. Hour and half-hour strike on old bell.
