Circa 1780 France Elegant cream taffeta waistcoat embroidered with country bouquets and cannetillé clicks dating from the Louis XVI period. Square waistcoat without collar complete with its matching embroidered buttons with double buttonhole effect. Two applied tabs of real pockets and edge highlighted with metal blades in silver curly thread. The original back in ecru plush cotton terry has been widened by a large cotton tab in its center. The lining of the waistcoat is in cream silk twill and has gaps at the bottom. Note, several missing tinsel and a micro halo on one shoulder, no major defect, the embroidery is in very good condition. Wearable or collectible. Good general condition despite some defects.
