Old Chofa Garuda
Representing the mythical bird Garuda, mount of the god Vishnu, this antique carved wooden Chofa (or Chofa ah) is a Thai (Siamese) example dating to the early 19th century. It is sold with its steel base, equipped with four adjustable feet and a tilt adjustment screw. Provenance: Estate of the Asian art collector and dealer Claude de Marteau.
