Old Chofa Garuda
Antique wooden sculpture of a Chofa (or Chofah) depicting the mythical bird Garuda, mount of the god Vishnu. This Thai (Siamese) example dates to the early 19th century. It is sold with its steel base, equipped with four adjustable feet and a tilt adjustment screw. Provenance: Estate of the Asian art collector and dealer Claude de Marteau.
