Large Modernist Minimalist Wall Coat Rack
Wall-mounted coat rack in glass (upper shelf), acrylic (racks) and solid brass, circa 1960. Its radical design is reminiscent of certain models by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte. However, beyond its almost extreme minimalism, it is likely a fine example of the productions of the Vereinigte Werkstätten München (Les Ateliers Réunis): The machining, the choice of materials and the quality of assembly affirm the rejection of industrial mass production, as well as the desire to make functionality apparent. L 123 CM X 29 CM X H 14 CM. Very slight signs of normal wear on the brass-plated parts and the plexiglass, a very small chip (2mm) in the glass part (see photos).
