Beautiful intimate canvas depicting a woman and a pianist in an interior. The light is subtly distilled and the line is lively and precise. The canvas is in very good condition (a few small discreet cracks). It is the work of Armand Massonet Belgian painter born in Saint Gilles in 1892 and died in Jette in 1979. He studied at the Beaux Arts in Brussels and also at the École nationale supérieure des beaux arts in Paris. Massonet's work reveals a particular aptitude for sketching and capturing movement and light. His paintings often address the theme of music and dance, with portraits of jazz bands and pianists. He appears in the museums of Brussels, Virton, Reims and Riga. Dimensions of the canvas 61 cm x 50 cm. With the frame, 72 cm x 61 cm.
