Model by Claude-François BOUVIER active from 1835, not hallmarked.

This object was used by shepherds and field workers, day laborers, etc. There were several sizes, the number of which varies depending on the production centers, from 4 to 6. The shapes of these dinner carriers vary, they are truncated in Burgundy, pomiform in Ile-de-France, flared in Anjou, etc.; the attachments of the handles, depending on the region, show cherub heads, rosettes, fleurons, human masks, etc. At the BOUVIER in CLAMECY, we note small variations in the number of curls in the hair of the cherub heads
