Elegant ornamentation of original gilded bronzes (formerly regilded). Original lock working with its key. Top in red marble from the Pyrenees of the period in good condition (old restorations) *Georges Jansen (Born in 1726) - cabinetmaker of Scandinavian origin. Paris. Master on April 8, 1767. He resided successively on rue Traversière, and rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine. The pieces signed with his mark show that he practiced marquetry with success. He produced furniture covered with veneer wood or marquetry of flowers, foliage, urns, trophies, in the Louis XV, Transition and Louis XVI styles. Jansen must be considered a most skilled marquetry maker; like Topino, Pioniez and a few others.
