Saint Paul is depicted standing, with one hand holding a sword and the other a scroll. He is clad in a tunic with delicately carved, flowing folds that reveal his feet (some earlier restorations; the sword was added later and is removable).
The sculpture was originally polychromed.
A work from the late 17th century featuring unusual proportions and meticulous carving.
