Polychrome Carved Wooden Statue Of A Saint From The High Middle Ages

A superb polychrome carved wooden statue of a saint-bishop from the High Middle Ages. Beautiful original polychrome paintwork. The bishop is clad in a chasuble with heavy, geometric folds (Romanesque/Gothic style), wearing a miter, with his hands clasped and oversized to emphasize his posture of prayer. In good condition; the base is missing, and there is wear on the top of the miter. 15th century. Modern metal base, 15/15 cm.
