Artist: Inconnu
Large late 17th century statue probably representing Saint Pierre* in pine or pitch pine pasted painted, can even be polychromed.
the patina is superb, the wood looks like yew, it is knotty and patinated in places.
the head is original, the grain of the wood follows from the body to the head but it is removable, held a priori by an ankle.
This statue lacks the right hand of the saint, comes from a succession of coasts of armor (22) of which other objects of this quality have already been sold, an invoice will be issued to the buyer.
* Pierre is dressed in the tunic and the pallium, characteristic of the apostle. He is represented with short curly hair, a short curly beard, marked features. His attributes are the keys, which open the gates of Paradise; the book and the rooster.
