Repoussé Brass And Ebony Mirror
A mirror in repoussé brass and ebony. The spandrels feature motifs of foliate scrolls, flowered urns, and romantic figures, echoing the central figure in the pediment. The pediment is decorated with a dancing figure in the middle, playing a lyre held in their hands, and flanked by half-length putti. The central figure is likely Orpheus, recognizable by the lyre, a symbol of music and song, in which Orpheus excelled.
