H 150: Louis XIV Regency-style Mirror.
A superb mirror made of wood and stucco, richly carved and gilded with gold leaf, from the Regency period (early 18th century). It features an elegant openwork pediment adorned with shells, foliage, and flowers, characteristic of the transitional period between the reigns of Louis XIV and Louis XV.
The mirror retains its original mercury-coated glass, with beautiful oxidation and an authentic patina that attests to its age. The side glazing beads and the small upper pane are also original, lending it incomparable charm.
The carving is delicate and elaborate, and the antique gilding has a natural patina. The piece is in good condition considering its age, with the usual signs of wear.
A high-quality decorative piece, ideal for a classic interior, a home with character, or a decor style that blends antique and contemporary elements.
Presented as-is in its original condition, as shown in the photos.
