Kurdish rug from the middle of the 20th century in wool on wool hand-knotted in the soumak style.
It measures 94 cm wide by 192 cm long.
Decorated with stylized flowers for the whole laid on a dark wine-red almost brown field.
The colors, of natural origins on mixed wool, are orange, indigot, midnight blue, curry, white, almond green and white.
The wool comes from sheep, goats, horsehair, camel hair, the whole is mixed and presents this tribal and nomadic roughness.
These nuances are all present in the register of nomadic or tribal rugs.
Two lifelines underline the floral border.
Kilim finish at both ends followed by mixed wool fringes.
Beautiful example of a rural rug knotted in the plains of Kurdistan.
This rug is in very good condition, while presenting a beautiful patina and slight wear due to its age.
