Anthropomorphic Statuette - Kulango Culture, Ivory Coast And Ghana - Circa 1900
ANTHROPOMORPHE STATUTE with bent legs, her feet forming a trapezoid base, characteristic of the culture.
His hands, with incised fingers, rest on his knees, which are themselves folded over a bulging belly with a protruding umbilicus. His stylised face is punctuated by two small protuberances on the sides, referring to his ears or short plaits.
It probably represents an ancestor.
