INDIAN KHANDA STRAIGHTBREAD WITH FOREWARD

Steel blade, damascus, single-edged and counter-edged fixed on either side by two cut-out and openwork reinforcing attachments covered with gold damascene.
The steel handle features a fabric-barded spindle and a shell guard, the latter covered with its original velvet; on the underside are two blade reinforcements that include two chased and pierced quillons. The cupped pommel is topped by a half sphere and a long rivure knob. The whole is covered with gold damascene.
The wooden scabbard is covered with its velvet and wire and iron stitching.
Very good condition. The half sphere bears a label marked 343.
