Minyangi pende mask from the kasai According to Sousberghe, the minyangi mask: "masks smaller than a human face, masks that women can see and worn by the chief's entourage and family". Only one other example exists, that collected by Mr. A. Maesen at Luaya-Ndambo (kept at the Musée du Congo Belge, now the Musée Royal de l'Afrique Centrale, inv.53.74.5395), attesting to the Pendé origin of these two worksand the mask from the schwob collection, exhibited in 1958 at the exposition universelles, and a few examples more
