Object description :

"Tabwa Doll Rdv"
Among the Luba and Tabwa peoples, this type of doll, "mpundu," was used in the twin cult, as among the Yoruba. A deceased twin was fed, bathed, and put to bed with their surviving twin. They are generally cylindrical with scarifications; the Tabwa dolls have a more naturalistic head.
