Nimai do gusoku, 17th Juyo (first rank) certificate issued by the NKBKHK and published in the Illustrated Catalogue of Important Cultural Properties,Juyo Book 3 released 9-5-1998 ki il as (Important Cultural Property No. 310). Kabuto [helmet]: Black lacquered iron shell with sixty-two plates, decorated with raised ribs, ending in a five-tiered tehen kanamono of gilt copper and shakudo, black lacquered visor and reverse, the visor being secured by seven large circular rivets, four-tiered black lacquered neck guard with tight blue-green braid lacing, gold lacquered maedate [ornamental crest] in the shape of a sun disk, and kuwagata wakidate [side crests in the shape of stylized horns].
Mempo [mask]: Ressei mempo mask [fierce expression mask] with a yak-hair mustache, removable nose plate, silver lacquered teeth, and a three-tiered red lacquered throat guard
. Do [cuirass]: Articulated cuirass in two parts, mounted on leather, silver fukurin, gilt copper fittings, seven five-tiered tassets. Sode, kote [shoulder guards and sleeves]: Five-tiered shoulder guards in black lacquer, chainmail kote lined with later date blue silk brocade.
Haidate, sune-ate [thigh guards and leg guards]: Black lacquer thigh guards edged with silk brocade, leg guards (shino suneate), all laced with a matching braid.
Accessories: Surcoat (jinboari) in pale blue weave.
Accompanied by a registration certificate as Juyo Bunka Shiryo [Important Cultural Material], No. 310, issued by the Nihon Katchu Bugu Kenkyu Hozon Kai [Society for the Preservation of Japanese Armor], dated 54 Showa year (1979).
