Hilt in bronze gilded with mercury.
Pommel depicting an ancient-style plumed helmet.
Crossguard chiselled with a dog’s head and a star surrounded by laurel branches within a cartouche; fluted at both ends.
Tang decorated with filigree of twisted gilded brass wires.
Slightly curved crossguard chiselled with foliage motifs on one side and ending in a knob on the other.
Handle engraved with two phoenixes with arrowhead-tipped tails and leafy branches; the underside is decorated with scales.
Straight double-edged blade, etched with foliage and bundles of weapons, and marked on the heel ‘SIMMONS BROs Cockspur S LONDON’.
Leather strap.
Leather scabbard.
Gilded brass pommel, with a floral-motif button.
Matching pommel cap.
Wrist strap.
