Suite Of Two Walnut Armchairs, 17th Century.
Suite of two walnut armchairs from the Louis XIV period, 17th century. The first armchair rests on a baluster-shaped base decorated with an H-shaped spacer and a baluster column on the front. Its volute-shaped armrests also rest on a baluster column. A file with a gendarme hat completes the decor. The second armchair in the so-called sheep bone shape also rests on a base decorated with an H-shaped spacer. Its armrests are made of sheep bone and its back has a policeman's hat. The seats are covered with a lampas with a large pattern of acanthus leaves in shades of water green. Private collection, from a castle in Burgundy.
