Scandinavian "brutalist" Japandi Style Coffee Table, Solid Teak, 20th Century

Very beautiful atypical coffee table, with a very Japanese design, meeting the criteria of the "Japandi" style.
This recent term comes from the contraction between “Japan” and “Scandinavia”.
Inspired by the concepts of "Hygge", advocating intimacy and comfort in one's living space, and "Wabi-Sabi", referring here to simplicity and aesthetic sobriety, the aesthetic principles of discretion and minimalism of Japandi particularly emphasize functional elements, to the detriment of the superfluous, sober colors, clean lines, raw materials and natural materials...
This beautiful table perfectly meets all of these principles.
Entirely in SOLID TEAK, it is of very good quality.
The thick top (8 cm!), made from a single board, has been largely biased, in order to eliminate a heavy and massive effect.
The base also has a central vertical groove, which breaks the monoxyl appearance.
The stability of the whole is ensured by two wooden keys at the ends of the spacer.
The tray rests on four nipples at the top of the legs.
The whole thing is completely removable...
Magnificent condition, very beautiful top...
This table is very heavy, between 30 and 35 kg, the top alone is around 20kgs!
