Pair Of Bronze And Cloisonné Enamel Vases, Japan, Late 19th Century
Pair of archaic Japanese bronze vases with brown patina and cloisonné enamels of the "Shippo" type.
Meiji period, late 19th century.
The condition is generally correct. However, they both have vertical incisions at the base, as if someone had once wanted to remove a piece of metal (which fortunately did not succeed!), perhaps in order to make lamps??...
One of the two also has a very slight indentation at the base of the belly, barely visible to the eye, which caused a tiny crack visible only from the inside, in the light (see last photo).
Sold in pairs. Given the weight, a shipment is to be estimated, in addition, depending on distance.
Height = 30 and 30.2 cm
Diameter at the neck = 11 cm; at the belly = 20 cm; at the base = 13.5 cm
Weight for the pair = 4.600 kg
Shipping will be in addition.
