Peaceful and contemplative form of the four-armed bodhisattva of compassion, avalokiteshvara Chaturbhuja or Sadaksari, in gilded bronze. He is seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, his main hands in namaskaramudra, one of the secondary hands holding a bhodi bead, from the sacred tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment. His serene face displays an expression of compassion, his gaze directed towards the world, his hair carefully gathered in a bun under a five-pointed diadem surmounted by the head of Amitabha.
