Great Amitayus, Nepal
This beautiful and large figure of Amitayus is seated in padmasana on a lotus throne, holding in both hands the vase of eternal life (Jivana kalasha), he still wears his jewelry and royal bodhisattva clothing. Also called Amitābha, it is particularly associated with longevity. Provenance: Estate of the collector and art dealer Claude de Marteau. Sold with certificate of provenance.
